Is not drinking pure water very dangerous in the long run?

I’m a 16 year old girl. I hardly ever drink pure H2O unless I’m exercising outside of school, which is basically once a week (PE is before lunch, so I drink juice then) or if it’s hot. I drink a lot of juice, milk, and soy milk. Does that count? I think my metabolism’s okay. I’m at a healthy weight and I have a big appetite. However I do have a fat belly (lol).

There is no supplement to water. All other food constitutes only 20% of our water intake. Drink plenty of water.

In a word – yes. Your body needs water to function properly, as well as heal itself. Those things like juice and milk, while they do have some nutritious value, they also have sugars and in the case of juice, additives that in large quantities can actually hurt you. Water flushes your system from all those things that your body needs to get rid of.

Don’t worry, your metabolism will still be healthy and stable, but just don’t stop drinking pure H2O because you will really be needing water for your body to get energy and help you with challenges in your lifetime.

    Hey Sharkii,

Not drinking water is very dangerous. Our bodies are built to utilize water. It’s the other stuff that’s dangerous. Think about it.. water is natural, juices and other beverages are not. What does that tell you?

Also, water does a host of good things for our bodies.. hydrates, detoxifies, suppresses appetite, carries oxygen to your cells, supports kidney function. Nothing else you can drink does all that!!

Juice is filled with sugar, milk is good because of the calcium but even so, it contains fats and if it’s not organic, it may contain hormones and steroids that are given to the cows and added to the soybeans.

Wanna do something great from your body? Drink good old fashioned plain H2O :o )
