Home Drinking Water Filtration: What Are My Options For Filtering?
What home drinking water filtration units have you had good to excellent experiences with? (whole house or just water faucet attachments)
My drinking water has high iron content, odors, foul taste. What are my options for filtering it?
The drinking water comes from my new well and it tested high in iron, 18 ppm.
I would try a Pur faucet filter first, since that’s a fairly easy fix. It’s really up to you as to whether or not to filter the whole house. If you go that route, I’d recommend a reverse osmosis system. My sister lives in Kissimmee, FL and that’s what she uses to get the sulfur taste out of the water there.
Iron-specific systems are available, but they’re pricey.
